FAQs

After the workshop, can I advertise ‘deep tissue’ and ‘hands- free massage’ and add this to my insurance policy?
In a legal sense, you are safe to advertise any modalities that you are trained in, providing you are insured to carry out that modality on the public. Not all insurance providers may allow you to add Level 3 CPD approved diploma courses to a policy, please check with your provider before booking. Westminster are an example of insurers who are flexible with adding modalities to your policy, providing you have had suitable, hands-on training. The school provides you with a £10 discount code for Westminster Insurance which you can access from the Learner Login area when you enrol.
How many CPD points is this course?
15
Is it hard to massage hands-free, using your forearm and elbow?
With hands-free massage, it can take a bit of time for your forearm and elbow to become more sensitive (like the skin on your hands), so that you can feel for tension, but soon enough your elbows will become very used to it! The body posture used to carry out these moves can also take a bit of time to feel natural, but soon enough you will feel how easy it is to deliver effective moves this way.
Is this a deep tissue massage course?
Yes, hands-free massage is a body friendly way to deliver deep tissue moves, because the focus is on leaning your body weight to achieve pressure (instead of forcing with your hands). You can also carry out effleurage/lighter moves using your forearms.

Kind words from learners…

Devon is both an excellent massage therapist and teacher! I’ve had Seated acupressure and deep tissue massage treatments with Devon and they were both extremely effective as Devon is so experienced and really tailors the treatments to your needs. Devon also taught me how to carry out these treatments which has been so valuable to my business. It was so easy and enjoyable training with Devon as she creates such a calm and friendly learning environment and is so knowledgeable. Can’t thank you enough for all your help.

Alicia Whittaker
(Advanced deep tissue course)

Devon is an excellent tutor. She allows plenty of time to practice all of the techniques which is really helpful to build your confidence when using hands free massage. The venue at Brathay Hall is just the perfect setting to learn. There’s plenty of parking and stunning views along with a huge amounts tranquility to help focus and ground you before you learn. Thank you for providing a great course Devon.

Rachel Mann
(Level 3 Massage Therapy)

I’d highly recommend massage training with Devon. I’m a qualified Swedish massage therapist but wanted to enhance my skills, specifically with Deep Tissue massage. She tailored the training to my experience and interests, showing me a range of techniques and guidance around correct posture. She created a safe, supportive training space and was very patient with my scribbling lots of notes! Looking forward to putting my new skills into practice!
