Money mindset & manifestation
This article is for you if you make an effort to improve your life by working or pursuing your goals, but you still don’t get enough money to feel safe, comfortable, and rich enough to buy what you want (not just what you ‘need’) without thinking too much about it!
I have been learning so much about how money mindset and manifestation practices affect your beliefs around money, and subsequently your income. And I have been trying out different practices, and receiving more and more money 🙂 I keep advising friends and family on the following useful money improvement practices, and it would be easier to refer them to this article instead of repeating myself! I want to share my experience and what I’ve learnt with you so that you can get more of what you are worth. Because, to paraphrase a famous hair product brand, you are worth it 🙂
My story
I came across the art of manifestation and money mindset practices from a book recommendation in my massage business mentor’s Facebook group. She asked the group to share books which have helped their business, and from the suggestions, two of them really stood out to me, so I got them on Audible. This post will share my favourite practices from these two books: ‘Rich as F**k’ by Amanda Frances, and ‘Get Rich Lucky B**ch’ by Denise Duffield-Thomas. The titles might sound a bit silly, but the topics are deep and psychological, as well as offering practical advice. They are geared towards female entrepreneurs, but if that is not you, you won’t struggle finding other books about money improvement with people like you in mind.
I listened to these books at a time when I had been working on my business for years, pouring everything in: time, energy and money. I also have a history of money issues. I was brought up by a single parent in a housing association house, money was often scarce. This was obvious on a day to day basis; often vital things would run out like electricity on the meter, and milk. Other stressful situations were going shopping with friends whose parents had given them spends, and not having anything at all, it wasn’t ideal. As you might have guessed, I learnt from a young age that money was hard to come by. And I believe that this has held me back from feeling calm about money in the past, and generating it as an adult. It has been a fascinating journey; working to let go of old emotions around finances. I am grateful for these past experiences, as they have powered my career motivation, and have opened me up to learn a lot of lessons in money, confidence and positivity, which I enjoy guiding others in, as part of my role as an educator and healer. Whether or not my story resembles yours, or you just want to actually get paid an amount which allows you to feel more at ease, or excited, it’s well worth examining your own beliefs about money!
Two common beliefs are:
There’s not enough money to go around
It is not the case that if you earn lots of money and become really rich, then poor people will suffer more. This is just not how it works, money is not finite, despite what certain political parties have us believe when they are legitimising their policies. There is an abundance of money in existence and more is being created all the time, and you can access it if you want!
What’s more, you are a nice, honest person who would like to live well. In fact, when nice people like you earn more, you end up sharing some of it with friends, family and charitable organisations. So it is better off in your hands anyway!
Rich people are greedy and mean
Yes, there are a lot of mean rich people who manipulate and exploit others to line their own pockets, but there are also a lot of very kind and generous rich people, people who care, who make a difference, and donate millions to charities. As well as this, there are also mean poor people and generous poor people. There is no inherent link between money and being a b***ch/ b****d! If this is the case, then why shouldn’t you receive lots of money? Can you actually think of any good reasons?
If you feel like you have any opinions about money and its evilness, its scarcity, or you have any lingering resentment, then it’s really time to dig into some money mindset books/podcasts/videos to start breaking apart these beliefs which could be holding you back. Go wild and find some resources you can get stuck into.
Your money beliefs and the impact on your life in sum: negative feelings and attitudes around money bring in negative events around money, like loss and lack. Whereas, positive feelings around money, will attract positive events around money: receiving more. So how do you maximise positive feelings around money?

Try out these money mindset and manifestation practices:
Cleaning
You have unresolved negative feelings about money from the past which affect you today. How do I know this is true? Because we ALL do! Even if you have come to terms with any undesirable past situations and you are a positive person now, there will be some little residual attitudes or memories linked to money which you have not properly let go. Maybe it was not having the best toys, owing money, thinking footballers don’t deserve a billion pound salary, or worrying about debt. Whatever it is, do some cleaning….I like to think of past negative feelings as dirt to be cleaned. Cleaning isn’t the most fun thing to do, but in order to change the decor of a room (or your mind!) you’ve got to give the place a bit of a clean first. To do: Make a list of past situations linked with money which have caused you to feel bad, no matter how small or silly these things might seem. Really go back to that icky feeling you felt at the time and help to dissolve it by saying this following sentence, and applying it to whatever or whoever seems best to direct it to, whether that’s a caregiver, a belief you hold, or to yourself: I forgive you, I love you, I’m sorry, Thank you.* Notice how the negative emotion feels a little lighter. That is cleaning, and we don’t just clean a room once and expect it to be permanently fresh, we maintain it. So keep this practice up, write your list often, and release those negative feelings bit by bit. *Phase and practice taken from ‘Get Rich Lucky B**ch’ by Denise Duffield-Thomas.
Beliefs
Accept and expect that things are going to be different now, that you will receive more money than ever before. If you don’t believe this, then try to pinpoint why not, is it because you haven’t had enough luck so far? That thought is just based on a pattern, it is a limiting thought, and not connected to what is possible. Feel the excitement of knowing that things are going to be different now.
Asking
How does someone know what you want if you don’t tell them? Ok they might guess, but there’s no better way of getting what you want than actually asking for it. This applies to money too. So state how much you want to receive for each month, for each year. Write it down. Expect that you will receive it. Change your laptop password to that amount. Keep it present in your mind. Easy! If you struggle with this, it might be due to limiting beliefs, so get stuck into some money mindset resources to help understand where the struggle comes from and how to overcome it.
Gratitude list
This is one to practise often. Write down every bit of money you receive, whether it’s from wages, refunds, gifts or vouchers, or any other source at all. And if there’s not much to write (or nothing at all), write a general list of money you’ve received in the past; such as work income, presents or grants. And this is the most important part: feel good about having received these amounts. How? Look at the list, and remember how you felt when you first received each of the amounts. That little heart-jump when you opened a letter with a tax rebate, or seeing your bank statement on payday and feeling pleased, or hugging a relative in thanks. How does this work? One explanation is that feeling good about money increases your positive feelings to do with money, which attracts more positivity surrounding money, and therefore brings you more money!
Lastly there’s letting go and trusting. The more we think about what we ‘need’ the further away it moves from us! A needy feeling is a no-no for the law of attraction, because feelings of need are all about lack, and focusing on lack attracts more feelings and experiences linked to lacking what you want. Instead, focus on what feels good in your life; what is working out to feel that contentment, then take the necessary steps to work towards your goals, have an idea of what you are aiming for, and last but not least allow the goodness to come to you (instead of manically focusing on it all the time!)

A funny story
I had a pile of toy bank notes from the children’s games section of a shop, leftover from when my partner dressed as a 1970’s gangster at a murder mystery! There were five x £20 notes, and although smaller than real bank notes, the design; with the purply coloured embossed Queen of England face, made them look like real £20 notes for a split second. They were on the sideboard in my office for a couple of weeks, among the pens, and I kept seeing them whenever I walked into the room, momentarily thinking that they were real. Now can you guess how many real £20 notes I received out of nowhere in the following couple of weeks? Yes, you got it, five, the exact amount of fake notes in my office. First of all I visited my dad who randomly gave me 3 x £20 notes. I didn’t think anything of it. Then I was tipped for a job and the manager gave me a £20 note. That made me think… ‘Hmm, I wonder where the next one will come from’. Then a few days later, completely out of the blue, a previous client of mine posted a Thank You card with a £20 note inside through my letterbox for work I had done months before. I had my five; the power had been in my (split-second) belief that the fake notes were real. Thanks universe/law of attraction etc! Ok this is just a little tale to make you curious, and you might think it’s a coincidence, but the main proof for me (and countless others) that money manifestation practices are effective, is that I am releasing negativity around money, I feel more financially secure, and I am earning more than ever before.
In sum, of course you need to be practical and make an effort with your job, your business, your day-to-day activities, to be logical and wise. But what if there is something else which can help to magnify your success? Something a bit less obvious, but powerful nonetheless? Maybe there is something in all this ‘The Law of Attraction’ and positive mindset talk that you keep hearing about. So try these practices, and find more resources on money mindset and manifestation that you enjoy looking at and listening to. Start your magical fiscal improvement journey, and see where it takes you, you really have nothing to lose, only money to gain!
